How do I remove people and distractions from the background in Photoshop?

By SYMONE SEVEN

So there I was on the beach, I made it just in time to catch the morning sun rise up from the crystal blue waves. I positioned myself among the palm trees into the perfect instagram pose. My mom snaps the photo and it’s beautiful straight out of the camera. I rush home to upload it into photoshop to post on my feed, and what’s standing in my way from this perfect moment? A shirtless grandpa showering behind me! I had no idea! Keep reading to find how to delete any distractions from your photos fast!

HOW TO REMOVE DISTRACTIONS IN THE BACKGROUND IN PHOTOSHOP

  1. Create a background layer copy with keyboard shortcut COMMAND J

  2. Zoom in on the distraction with keyboard shortcut COMMAND +

  3. Use the SPOT HEALING TOOL to paint over the distraction. Make sure the CONTENT AWARE setting is pressed/on in the tool’s menu

  4. Use the CLONE STAMP tool to sample with OPTION and paint over any malfunctions the SPOT HEALING TOOL may have left behind.

My advice to you is to keep an eye on your surroundings. Sometimes it’s better to wait for the perfect moment than to rush it and have to fake it.
