This is my photography journey documented in selfies from newest to oldest.
Before I ever seriously considered being a photographer, I would take photos of myself for fun. I liked planning and seeing my vision come to life. I was obsessed with going out with my tripod (or with my mom!) and editing my photos on my phone. This led me to being discovered as a photographer by an old friend Byron who encouraged me to develop the technical skill behind my good eye. I took him up on that challenge in 2017. I found myself constantly going back to this skill to practice editing, shooting, styles. Sometimes this was a form of release in times of discomfort. With myself, I’m able to vulnerable to try and fail without judgment and celebrate my progress. This is more than a selfie. it’s self love.
